cum-: with, together with

Cum- appears prefixed to hundreds of English words, but a recognition of its presence is often made difficult by the fact that it appears in one of these forms: CO-, COM-, COR-, COL-, CON- COUN-

To CO-OPERATE is to work together with someone else.

COEDUCATION is education of both sexes together.

To COHABIT is to live together as man and wife.

To COHERE is to stick together.

To COLLECT is to gather together.

COLLABORATORS work together to produce books.

To COMBINE is literally to put two things together.

If runners COMPETE for a prize, they seek it together..

To CONNECT is to join together.

A CONGREGATION in a church has flocked together.

CORROSION is, literally, gnawing together.

A COUNCIL is a group of advisers called together.
